American Home Mortgage Servicing Loan Modification

American Home Mortgage Servicing is one of the top loan modification servicing firms in the United States. Its loan modification branch is called the Home Retention Team, and its program is called Project Lifeline. The team consists of trained associates with 5 to 8 years of experience in loan modification and assisting borrowers in financial difficulty.

The first step in American Home Mortgage loan modification is a notice of delinquency sent to borrowers who are behind on their mortgage. This stops the foreclosure proceedings for 30 days while they evaluate their loan modification options. It also buys the borrower enough time to get current and work out a reasonable arrangement with the lender.

Most types of loans can qualify under the Project Lifeline mortgage modification program. These include prime loans, Alt-A, second liens, and sub-prime loans that have passed the 90-day limit for delinquency. Loans that do not qualify are those that are in active bankruptcy or within less than 30 days of foreclosure, investment properties, and vacant properties.

Project Lifeline also provides borrowers with a step-by-step guide to applying for American Home Mortgage loan modification. In addition, it offers credit counseling, mortgage assistance, and local visits to personally help delinquent borrowers.
